Emma Watson was left red-faced after her Tina Turner ring tone started playing in the middle of an ITV interview.

Watson, 26, was talking with Lorraine correspondent Mark Heyes about her latest film Colonia when she was interrupted by her mobile phone ringing.

Feeling awkward, the actress grabbed the phone and said: “That is so embarrassing! That is my phone. And that is Tina Turner.”

Heyes found the interruption amusing and praised Watson’s choice of ring tone.

“That’s ultimate respect!” Heyes said. “That’s probably the best ringtone I’ve ever heard.”

Watson replied: “I’m glad that I’m forgiven because it’s Tina Turner otherwise that would have been terrible. I’m so sorry.”

“We’re all good,” Heyes reassured her.

The Harry Potter actress stars alongside Daniel Brühl in the Florian Gallenberger directed film which follows Watson’s character as she gets drawn into the Colonia Dignidad sect while trying to find her abducted boyfriend.

Watson said she felt a sense of "responsibility" in taking on the role and described filming underwater scenes as "pretty horrific".

The actress - who has been in the spotlight since she was a child - also opened up about being 'terrified' of working the red carpet.

"It doesnt ever not feel terrifying," she said. "It's the level of energy and adrenaline and people. It's a lot of attention created in a small place."

Colonia is slated for UK cinema release on July 1.
