Presenter Dermot O’Leary has revealed that Louis Walsh is “loving” the X Factor’s ratings crisis.

O’Leary – who was dropped from presenting the ITV talent contest this year – said that former judge Walsh believes viewers are missing him and O’Leary.

Speaking to The Sun he said: “I haven’t seen Louis for ages but I got a text from him last week saying, ‘They’re missing us, Dermot – have you seen the ratings?’ He was loving that.”

O’Leary – who is set to front a new car show on ITV – said that he doesn’t regularly tune into The X Factor.

“I don’t watch it religiously now because I was on it for so long and I have got my weekends back,” he said.

Walsh was replaced by Nick Grimshaw for the new series while Caroline Flack and Olly Murs took over from O’Leary.

The reality show is down one million viewers on last year and peaked at 7.6million on Sunday night.
