David Gest’s CBB co-stars Stephanie Davis and Darren Day pay tribute on Twitter

David Gest’s former Celebrity Big Brother housemates have paid tribute to the star on Twitter.

After news of the entertainer’s death broke on Tuesday afternoon, friends including Stephanie Davis, Darren Day and Gemma Collins were quick to offer their condolences.

Actress Davis, who had been with the 62-year-old just a week before his death, wrote:

“My heart is broken. Grandad has gone. Last to get photo with him. We made plans and im gutted I won't see you again.”

She added: “What an amazing man and a pleasure to have had times with u me and jezz gutted! Love u always amazing person heartbroken devastated X.”

Davis later added: “Is this a joke? Shocked. So sad.”

Day, who was close with Gest during their time on the Channel 5 reality show, wrote: “I’m devastated to hear about my dear friend David Gest. I love and miss you mate. Heaven will be a brighter place x.”

TOWIE star Collins wrote on her account: “Absolutely beside myself David Guest I you so much so so sad to hear this will never forget you X the phone calls I will miss so much RIP.”

Geordie Shore’s Scotty T, who won the series, posted: “Can't believe your gone RIP David Gest. What a beautiful human xxxx.”

The music producer, who was the former husband of Liza Minnelli, died at the Four Seasons hotel in Canary Wharf this morning.

Friend Imad Handi said: "It is with great sadness that I can confirm that David Gest has died today.

"David was truly larger than life. He was not just a huge talent and a dear friend but a showbiz icon.
