Acclaimed music producer Tony Visconti has suggested that Adele’s singing voice could have been ‘manipulated’.

David Bowie’s long-time collaborator has hit out at the ‘fluff’ that is played on the radio, claiming that much of it is ‘computerised’.

Visconti even called into question superstar Adele’s lauded voice, saying that it might not be entirely hers.

In an interview with the Daily Star, he said: “You turn the radio on and it’s fluff, you are listening to 90% computerised voices.

“We know Adele has a great voice but it's even questionable if that is actually her voice or how much has been manipulated. We don't know.”

Visconti added: “There's a sound to pop now that is so perfect it's boring, because everything is fixed."

The producer, who worked with Bowie on and off from 1969 until his last album Blackstar, recently told The Evening Standard that fans could expect to hear more from the late legend in due course.

Visconti revealed that Bowie had recorded five more tracks before his death, intended for a follow-up album.

“I haven’t heard those songs yet,” Visconti told the Standard. “I might actually have to help his managerial company to find them.

“I have an idea where he might have recorded them, but there is also a lot of unreleased material from many albums.”
