David Beckham records touching video message for terminally ill Manchester United fan

David Beckham has recorded a touching video message for a terminally ill Manchester United fan.

Beckham, 40, reached out to 19-year-old Cystic Fibrosis sufferer Chloe Hopkins to send her his “best wishes”.

The teenager created a bucket list to fulfil her dreams after a terminal diagnosis - one of which was meeting the Manchester United football team.

In a short video, the former footballer said: "Hi Chloe, it's David Beckham here.

"I heard from my friend Chris that you're not very well so I just want to send all of my best wishes and all of my love."

He continued: "I hope you get out of hospital soon and I hope you feel better soon. Lots of love. Bye bye.”

Chloe - who needs a double lung transplant and has been on a waiting list since July 2015 - set up a Go Fund Me campaign titled Chloe’s Journey to Lung Transplant where she shared her bucket list.

Speaking to Manchester Evening News she said: “It still scares me to think about how limited my life is, but it is something I have had to come to terms with. Children in school used to call me Frankenstein because of the drains and plugs going into my body - but for me it was in one ear and out the other.

“Even if I have the transplant, it won’t save my life. It will only prolong it. But I am determined to live whilst I’m still alive, not just sit around waiting for a call that may never come, which is why I have created a bucket list.”

Beckham's video comes days after the father-of-four surprised a paramedic and a patient with a cup of tea and a coffee while they waited for an ambulance in London.
