Danniella Westbrook hoping for EastEnders return: I miss it terribly
Actress Danniella Westbrook has revealed she would like to return to EastEnders, saying she misses the show "terribly".
Westbrook, 42 – who is currently on Celebrity Big Brother – is keen to reprise her role as Sam Mitchell on the BBC One soap.
In a pre-written tweet, she said: “I would love nothing more than to return to @bbceastenders, it was my home and family 4 many years and I miss it terribly #alwaysamitchell.”
The post was followed by a picture of Westbrook as her soap alter ego alongside the caption: “My heart belongs to @bbceastenders #sammitchell.”

Westbrook’s plea to return comes days after Ross Kemp announced he will reprise his role as Grant Mitchell to bid farewell to Barbara Windsor's character Peggy Mitchell - who will pass away from breast cancer.

"Barbara is a very close friend, so when I learned of the storyline it felt right that the Mitchell brothers are reunited with their mother for the last time,” he said in a statement.
"I am really looking forward to going back to EastEnders and filming what are set to be some classic EastEnders episodes.”
Fans have called for Westbrook to reunite with her onscreen brothers, Grant and Phil (Steve McFadden).
A spokesperson for the show said: "Peggy's final episodes are still being finalised, so it is too early to say if any other characters from the Mitchell family will be returning. We have definitely not ruled out anyone at this stage."
