Jake Quickenden was left with whiplash after skidding and crashing his car in the treacherous weather.

The Dancing on Ice star had a “nightmare morning” after struggling to keep control of his vehicle as the UK was battered by strong winds and snow.

Quickenden, 29, was trying to get from his hotel to the studio to practice for this weekend’s semi-final when he crashed his car.

Speaking in an Instagram video he said: “I had a bit of an accident this morning. Got a bit of whiplash. This car is spinning out left right and centre. I hate driving in the snow.”

Warning fans to be careful, he tweeted: “Be careful if you’re out in the snow, had a nightmare morning, skidded going life 5mph and bumped another car that was broken down, everyone ok, but the roads are tragic so please be careful!!”

Quickenden, who is engaged to Danielle Fogarty, ditched the car and opted to walk before hitch hiking a lift.

Fans feared for his safety with many begging him to “take care” and “stay safe” while others joked he should put his ice skates on and skate to the studio.

Quickenden will be dancing for the final on Sunday night’s show. He and professional partner Vanessa Butler will be up against Kem Cetinay, Max Evans and Brooke Vincent.
