Former Doctor Who star Colin Baker revealed he went on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here to lose weight as he became the fourth contestant to be voted off the show last night.

The 69-year-old lost in a head-to-head against darts champion Eric Bristow after the two ended up bottom in Saturday night’s public vote.

In the Panic Rooms challenge, the men had to pair up with two female contestants, with Bristow picking celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager and Baker choosing EastEnders star Charlie Brooks.

The pairs then had to put their hands into “hell holes” to collect stars while avoiding snakes, crocodiles, lizards, crabs and scorpions.

Baker and Brooks collected fewer stars.

After his eviction Baker said it felt "remarkably good" to be leaving the Australian jungle, adding that he had entered the show to lose weight.

He told presenters Ant and Dec that the camp was “completely happy”, adding: “We all have our moments, we're starving, we're tired, nobody will tell us the football scores. All of those things add up to frustration."

Baker said his money was on his victor Bristow to win the show.

"I adore him. He's my big mate in there," he said. "In the early days when I was struggling a bit physically, he was the one who helped me and encouraged me. He's a fantastic bloke.”
