Christie Brinkley claims Donald Trump tried to ‘flirt’ with her while married to Ivana
Model Christie Brinkley labelled Donald Trump “smarmy” as she revealed he made approaches towards her.
The iconic Uptown Girl, 64, told Porter Magazine how Mr Trump “flirted” with her as he invited her on to his private jet when he was married to his first wife.
Brinkley, who was dating her future husband Billy Joel, said Mr Trump rang out of the blue, announced himself as “The Donald” and offered her a ride to ski resort Aspen, pushing her to cancel her plans.
This allegedly happened around the time that Mr Trump met his second wife, Marla Maples, with whom he began a relationship while married to his first wife, Ivana Trump.
He and Ivana divorced in 1992. Brinkley said: “My phone rings and this guy goes, ‘Hey, Christie, it’s The Donald.’ I say, ‘Hi Billy,’ because I was dating Billy [Joel] at the time.
"But the voice goes, ‘No, no. It’s The Donald!’ So I say, ‘What’s up?’ And he says, ‘I hear you’re leaving for Aspen tomorrow. I am too. I’d like to give you a ride on my private jet.’
I knew he was married, and there he was asking me to go on his plane. He was kind of flirty about it. He was out chasing skirts.”
