Celebrity X Factor contestants hit the red carpet at series launch

The X Factor: Celebrity contestants have hit the red carpet together for the first time.

The celebs, who have careers in TV and film, will be battling it out in the singing competition on Saturday night.

The series launch was held at London’s Mayfair Hotel on Wednesday.

The Love Islanders - Wes Nelson, Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker and Samira Mighty - all looked suitably stunning, with Mighty sporting a shimmering gown.

One-time Ex On The Beach star Megan McKenna went for a geometric-print suit, as did Alondra Martinez, one of the Influencers taking part in the show.

Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger were also in attendance and struck a pose on the red carpet.

X Factor: Celebrity launches this weekend and the first episode will feature the audition stages which were filmed in Los Angeles.

Dermot O’Leary is returning to present the show while Simon Cowell, Walsh and Scherzinger will be on the judging panel.

Cowell previously revealed that he had no part in choosing the celebs who are taking part.

“I said to the team, ‘You’ve got to find some acts who you believe can sell records off the back of this, because if you don’t do that it won’t work,’” he said.

“So, that was the deal and we stuck to it. I swear to God I didn’t have a clue who any of the acts were.”
