British canoeist Liam Heath was sent on his way to the Olympics with a good luck message from Kylie Minogue.

Heath, 27, tweeted a picture of the message, which read “Liam, good luck, love Kylie x” written on what appeared to be an immigration entry card. He received it as he finished at a training camp in Barcelona.

Heath, from Guildford, quit the sport three years ago after years of failing to make a breakthrough. He decided to follow a career

with his degree in design technology but a month later learned that for the first time his preferred event of 200m had been included in London’s Games.
