Britney Spears has revealed she is taking some “me time” over her father’s ongoing health battle.

Spears’ father Jamie was hospitalised in January. She told fans at the time that she would be putting her new Las Vegas residency show, Domination, on hold to dedicate “[her] focus and energy to care for [her] family”.

On Wednesday Spears posted a photo of the words: “Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit.”

She captioned the post: “We all need to take a little time for a little ‘me time’.”

The post comes months after she broke the news of her father’s ill health. Alongside a picture of herself with her father and mother Lynne she wrote: “It’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalised and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him.

“I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand.”

She also tweeted a link to her site for fans to seek refunds and thanked them for their ongoing support. “I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time,” she wrote. “Thank you, and love you all… always.”
