Britain’s Got Talent contestant Wayne Woodward was taken to hospital after he collapsed backstage, according to reports.

The 20-year-old singing hopeful was pictured being led out of the studios and into a waiting ambulance following his performance in the second semi-final.

Woodward was pictured holding a glass of water as he was accompanied by his family before reportedly being taken to hospital as a precaution.

“Wayne fainted after the show last night and was seen by a medic on site,” a source told MailOnline. “He was then taken to hospital as a precaution and is now resting at home.”

Earlier in the night, Woodward won himself a place in this weekend’s live final after impressing the public with his cover of Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life.

Amanda Holden said he did his family “proud” while Simon Cowell called him “infectious” and congratulated him for being someone the public will root for.

David Walliams joked that he looks like the offspring of Sinatra and actor Danny Dyer.

Viewers were calling for the cheeky-chappie to team up with Olly Murs.

Woodward will be joined by daredevil sword swallower Alexandr Magala in the final after he was saved over ballet act Shannon and Peter.

They will go up against 100 Voices of Gospel and Mel and Jamie.
