Televisions favourites Ant and Dec led the way at the TV Choice Awards after collecting a trio of awards for their shows.

The dynamic duo picked up prizes for best reality show for I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!, best talent show for Britain's Got Talent, and best entertainment show for Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway at the star studded awards function at Dorchester Hotel in London.

Not too far behind was BBC1's Doctor Who, which won the best drama series and was presented with an honorary gold award to mark its 50th anniversary later this year.

Writer and producer Steven Moffat collected the award on behalf of the iconic sci-fi series, which will soon see Matt Smith hand over to Peter Capaldi in the lead role as The Doctor.

Smith's predecessor, David Tennant, was also victorious at the glitzy event, collecting the best actor trophy for ITV’s police mystery Broadchurch, which also picked up the best new drama award.

History repeated itself for Miranda Hart who won the best actress award for the second year for her role in the BBC1 drama Call The Midwife.

Mrs Brown's Boys took home the best comedy prize for the second year running, while Jeremy Kyle made it three in a row with his mid-morning talk show.

There was a tough battle between the Soaps with Coronation Street sweeping the best soap award and Michelle Keegan landing the best soap actress prize for playing Tina McIntyre.

However, their BBC1 rival EastEnders wasn’t far behind with Shane Richie winning best soap actor for playing Alfie Moon. His and his co-star David Witts, who plays brooding Joey Branning, was awarded the best soap newcomer.

Winners at the TVChoice Awards 2013, in association with Daz - were voted by viewers and readers of the magazine.
