Liam Gallagher tonight bagged his second number one solo album and unsurprisingly labelled the feat "biblical".

The former Oasis star's "Why Me? Why Not." fended off Keane, which had been tipped to take the top spot.

Liam's album shifted 68,000 in chart sales, including 17,000 copies on vinyl, making it the fastest-selling vinyl album of 2019.

He said in a video posted on his Twitter: "Well, well, well, what do we have here brothers and sisters? Another number one record to go along with my other number one record.

"Two in two years - now that's what I call biblical. I want to thank you lot for buying it and giving me the love and support."

And quoting The Beatles, he rounded off the message with: "I am he, as you are he, you and me, and we are all together."

Liam's debut solo album, "As You Were", was a number one hit in October 2017.

"Why Me? Why Not." is his 10th number one album overall, including eight Oasis chart-toppers.
