Beyoncé’s concert in Manchester was heard eight miles away on Tuesday night.

The pop superstar, who is currently on the UK leg of her Formation world tour, was so loud that residents across the city could hear what she was performing.

Despite being held inside Old Trafford cricket ground, locals based in neighbouring Moss Side were able to get in on the action.

While some people counted themselves lucky to hear snippets of the Queen of Pop’s tracks, others were a little peeved about the ‘noise pollution’.

One person wrote on Twitter: “Really enjoying the @Beyonce gig inside my Manchester city centre flat #loud #OldTrafford #soundtravels.”

“Beyonce live is 2 miles away and is so loud it’s drowning out my Swans album!” wrote someone else.

“.@Beyonce is at the cricket ground 2nite. So loud it feels like end of the world. When "who run da world" plays Im expecting the apocalypse,” another Twitter-user posted.

Speaking on her Radio 1 show, Adele Roberts said that friends had messaged her to tell her about the noise.

“They treated themselves to a back garden pass because apparently she was so loud that she could be heard across Manchester,” she said.

Manchester residents had similar complaints during Rihanna’s show in the city the week before.

According to some people, the Bajan singer’s concert was heard up to ten miles away.

A spokesperson for Emirates Old Trafford told BBC’s Newsbeat:

"When staging concerts at Emirates Old Trafford, the club works very closely with Trafford Council and noise management experts to ensure that any issues that might affect our neighbours and residents within the proximity of the ground are kept to a minimum.

“Lancashire County Cricket Club and Trafford Council would like to confirm that the level of sound was monitored before and throughout each concert in the surrounding area and noise levels were compliant with the acceptable levels as laid out in the license provided by the Council to allow the concert to go ahead.”
