Lisa Armstrong has hit back at reports claiming her marriage to Ant McPartlin is 'on the rocks' following his stint in rehab.

It was reported that the couple are on the verge of splitting after 23 years together, with McPartlin said to be using his time on I’m A Celebrity as “make or break” for their marriage.

But Armstrong has clapped back, quashing the reports as “made up sh***”.

In a string of hashtags on Twitter she wrote: “#writewhatyouwant #haventbeentoOzfor10years #ihaveajob #allaloadofmadeups*** #imnotestrangedthank-you #asyouwere.”

McPartlin spent eight weeks in rehab after battling an addiction to alcohol and prescription painkillers to cope with chronic pain following botched surgery on his knee.

He then flew to Los Angeles to continue treatment.

At the time he apologised for putting Lisa “through hell” and thanked her for her “amazing” support.

McPartlin will make his TV return next Sunday for the launch of I’m A Celebrity. He said he was “excited” to get back to work with Declan Donnelly after a “long summer break”.

He told The Sun: “I’m feeling great. The flight was all right, I had a lot of sleep and me and Dec had a good catch-up.

“It’s brilliant to be back together, it’s perfect. Everything just slotted back into place. We can’t wait and we’re raring to go. We are really excited.”
