Adele on Jimmy Fallon: Singer whips out toy flip phone as she performs Hello with classroom instruments
Adele whipped out a green plastic flip phone as she performed a rendition of Hello to an orchestra of classroom instruments.
The singer, 27, took part in the performance after appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show.
Joined by the talk show host and his house band The Roots, Adele started singing the opening verse as one member of the band tapped on a colourful xylophone, another gently played the bongos and Fallon hit a wooden block.
During her appearance on the show she also performed her new single Water Under the Bridge for the first time which received a standing ovation and huge cheers from the audience.
The acoustic version also featured a musical banana, a ukulele and a melodica before Adele made a nod to her music video and whipped out a bright green flip phone in which she sang “Hello from the other side”.

She later took part in a game of Box of Lies which saw her pick an object and lie to Fallon about its identity.
The singer was in America to promote her new album 25 which this week broke first week album sales records in the US.
It has shifted a staggering 2,433,000 copies in just three days, according to Nielsen Music making it the fastest-selling record in the US since sales tracking began back in 1991, beating the previous record held by *NSYNC.
