Adele paid a visit to the heroic firefighters who battled the devastating Grenfell Tower blaze last week.

The singer, 29, popped in to Chelsea Fire Station for a ‘cup of tea and a cuddle’ as she continued to show her support in the wake of the tragedy which has claimed at least 79 lives.

The London Fire Brigade and firefighter Rob Petty shared a handful of pictures of the “wonderfully grounded” Londoner as she joined them at the station.

One picture shows Adele laughing over a cup of tea while another shows her posing for a group photo in front of a fire engine.

Mr Petty shared the images on Facebook alongside the caption: “Not everyday the wonderfully grounded and caring Adele pops into Chelsea Firestation for a cup of tea and a cuddle. X.”

Station Manager Ben King said: “She just turned up at the station and knocked on the window and said she has some cakes for us. So we opened the door to her and then she took her sunglasses off and said: ‘Hi, I’m Adele’. Everyone was so shocked.

“She came in, came up to the mess and had a cup of tea with the watch and then she joined us for the minute’s silence. We have had so much support for the local community and we cannot thank everyone enough.”

Adele’s visit was praised by fans who described her support as “fantastic”.

One person commented: “It's fantastic that she stopped by to see you all. I know you are back on duty today, and my thoughts are with you all. Thank you for your dedicated service, all of you!”
