ABBA reunite for first time in eight years at Stockholm restaurant opening
Swedish pop group ABBA have reunited for the first time in eight years.
Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad made a rare group appearance for the opening of Stockholm’s ABBA-inspired dining experience, Mamma Mia! The Party.
The four piece were last pictured together in 2008, when they attended the London and Stockholm film premieres of the hit film, Mamma Mia!.
The new entertainment venue - the brainchild of Ulvaeus - is based on the Greek tavern from the film and offers diners a Mediterranean menu and ABBA dinner entertainment.
Some 130 special guests and fans paid 1,340 kronor (£110) for tickets to the event, Swedish site thelocal.se reported.
The news outlet also reported that Lyngstad (known as Frida) refused to talk to the media – but fans took a chance during a 20 second window to capture the moment they stood together on stage inside.
The four piece sold 380 million albums worldwide after their rendition of Waterloo for the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest propelled them to fame.
They split in 1982 following worldwide success with hits including Take A Chance, Dancing Queen and Money Money Money.
