Brandy gives health update after being taken to hospital

R&B star Brandy Norwood has thanked fans and is “following doctor’s orders" after being taken to hospital.

The 43-year-old singer and actress took to Instagram and Twitter to update fans on her health after it had been reported she had suffered a seizure.

She wrote: “To my beloved fam, friends and starz thank you for sending love and light my way.

“I am following doctors’ orders and getting the rest I need due to dehydration and low amounts of nutrition. Thank you for your prayers and support. Grateful for you all, see you soon."

The Moesha star was met with a barrage of get-well wishes from fans.

One wrote: “Wishing you a full recovery! Get plenty of rest and don’t let the crazy world stress you out."

Another commented: “I don’t know about Gen Z but as a Millennial you were our young idol in the ’90s, Our Moesha, Our First Black Cinderella, Our Forever Vocal Bible and Our Brandy. Praying for your recovery."

While a third made reference to her brother Ray J, who made a sex tape with Kim Kardashian and is now in a public feud with her and her mother, Kris Jenner: “Don’t let the Kardashians or your Ray J cause you any stress.

“Just drink your water, sleep and stay out of their foolishness queen."

Brandy didn’t reveal why she ended up in hospital or address TMZ’s report that she had “suffered a suspected seizure and is currently hospitalised" on Tuesday.

A source told the publication: “It’s unclear what triggered the medical episode, however, Brandy is expected to make a full recovery."

Local police sources told the outlet they had been called by the paramedics to attend the star’s home at around midday.

It is reported that her parents accompanied her to the hospital.

Her brother Ray J, who was pictured last night with embattled rapper Kanye West at an event for right-wing social media personality Candace Owens, is yet to comment on the incident.
