David Beckham is holding a working-class - men-only - leaving do in a London pub before he moves to America in June. The multi-millionaire footballer has invited all of his old pals from when he was growing up here and a whole host of Manchester Utd stars past and present.

It's his final farewell to his English footballing life and career before moving to Hollywood to join LA Galaxy in a £125 million move.

David, 31, is planning a very low-cost affair where guests - including the Neville brothers and childhood friend Matthew Treglowan, who lived opposite David when he was seven - will feast on curry and beer in a pub instead of the usual champagne and canapes.

Happy couple, but Victoria will not be invited to David's men-only leaving do

"David is busy planning his boys-only do at the moment and has warned Victoria she's not invited. He doesn't want her making any glam suggestions for the bash.

"It will be a down-to-earth event, in a very low-key location, and David is considering serving his favourite foods from when he was a lad like Chinese, Indian and stir-fry.

"He doesn't want anything like champagne and canapés - it's a boys' night and a tribute to his past and his football.

David is currently on the hunt for the perfect venue in London and he's quite keen on booking out a local pub somewhere. He wants it to be private and low-key, so he's automatically scratched London's glitzy nightclubs off the list."

The Real Madrid footballer's father, Ted, is also helping out with the arrangements for the do while Becks is in Spain.

He's trying to track down all the boys David used to kick around with at Chase Lane park, the green where they used to practise his football skills for hours when he was a boy.

We're told: "The guests will be a real mix of people from David's life, from childhood friends to fellow footballers and his mentors over the years.

"There will be a lot of famous faces mingling with David's pals, a lot of whom just have ordinary jobs, that's why he wants the farewell bash to be down-to-earth.

"The party is in the early stages of planning at the moment so only the closest people know anything about it, but David wants to have the invites out by the end of the month."

The Beckhams are also throwing a lavish party in Amberley Castle at the end of May. Around 500 guests will dress up for a £750,000 American-themed star-studded bash. The focus will be on celebs from the world of TV, film and music.

We presume our invite for that one's in the post?
