Andrea McLean has experienced a number of heart-stopping moments during her stints on Dancing On Ice and SAS: Celeb Who Dares Wins - but the scariest of all happened away from the cameras when she got a visit from a royal ghoul.

The former Loose Women star recalled seeing a ghost that looked like the 17th Century monarch King Charles II in her living room after practising a spot of yoga.

Speaking at Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder celebration on Thursday, she told The Standard: “Years ago I thought I saw a ghost in my flat I used to live in when I was living on my own and that was very scary.

“But thankfully I’ve not seen anything since then.

“He was a man dressed like King Charles II and I was in my living room with my eyes shut, I’d just done some yoga and I could feel a presence and I opened my eyes and there was a man standing there dressed like that,” she continued.

“So, I shut my eyes, squeezed them really tight and counted to 10 then I just thought, ‘when I opened my eyes he’ll be gone’ and he was.

The presenter admitted she still struggles to wrap her head around her paranormal visitor

“The main thing I remember is that he was looking at me with a lot of curiosity like, ‘what are you doing?’

“And I was looking at him like, ‘Oh my God’ and then I just shut my eyes again, but it could have been a dream.”

The TV star, 53, admitted she still struggles to wrap her head around her paranormal visitor so much so she has never spoke of the experience to anyone for fear friends would think she’s “mad”.

“No, [I never told my friends], what would they think? ‘Are you mad? What do you mean you saw someone dressed as King Charles II’ and I hadn’t even been drinking.

“It was just one of those weird things.”

McLean attended the Emma Willis-hosted event with her partner Nick Feeney, which kicked off Disney’s 100th anniversary celebrations by announcing a series of exclusive experiences, exhibitions, concerts and new products coming next year.
