Alex Reid 'in bits' over Katie Price marriage strife

Cagefighter Alex Reid has told how he is "in bits" over the problems in his marriage to Katie Price

The pair, who wed a year ago in Las Vegas following a whirlwind romance, were said to have been preparing to release a statement confirming the end of the marriage last week.

Reid, 35, told Star magazine: "I am feeling very emotional. It has not been the easiest week. It is all very upsetting."

He said that any statement about the marriage ending will not be from him, telling the magazine: "I still want to save my relationship. I'm in bits over this."

He added: "I'm still wearing my wedding ring... I want to work on our marriage. Maybe I am an optimist, but I believe in doing the honourable thing."

Reid also used his column in the magazine to deny reports that he sold a photograph of himself with Price's son Junior, by Peter Andre.

He said that he was angry that "sadly someone sold" the photo and added: "I still maintain strong support for Katie in her wish to keep the kids out of the limelight".

Last week, Price hit out at reports about the state of her marriage, writing on Twitter: "Wish people would concentrate on real news, not what's speculated about people's relationships."

The former glamour model confirmed this month for the first time that the marriage was under strain.
