Aaron Taylor-Johnson says he’s keen to avoid stereotyping amid reports that he’s set to be the new James Bond.

The British actor, 33, has been acting since the age of six – starring in his first feature film age 10 alongside Jackie Chan in Shanghai Knights.

He will next be seen playing the titular character in Marvel’s Kraven the Hunter, followed by a turn in action-comedy The Fall Guy opposite Ryan Gosling, before closing the year in Robert Eggers eagerly anticipated reimagining of psycho-drama Nosferatu.

Discussing bulking up to play stealthy predator Kraven in the April/May issue of Rolling Stone UK, Taylor-Johnson - who is married to filmmaker Sam Taylor-Wood - said he wanted to avoid being pigeonholed.

“I don’t necessarily want this to be my brand, doing one action movie after another,” he told the publication.”

Adding: "I grew up dancing; I work with movement coaches… Please someone write me a musical. I’d do it!”

007 the musical anyone?

He also reflected on the reason he got into acting in the first place, admitting it kept him on the straight and narrow.

"You work with good and bad actors, divas and non-divas,” he began. “You learn how not to behave… Sometimes doing those jobs kept me out of trouble at the right time. In the suburbs of London, there’s not much to do but p** around and be naughty. And that was fun, but acting was a saving grace.”
