Roger Daltrey organises the Teenage Cancer Trust fund-raising week that's rapidly becoming a Royal Albert Hall institution. This year's line-up is the strongest since Marti Pellow opened the first one in 2002.

Robert Plant, late of Led Zeppelin, opens proceedings (Mon 4 Apr) with a night challengingly dedicated to Gibson guitars. Expect long hair, screaming, guitar solos and leather trousers.

Tue 5 Apr sees Franz Ferdinand play their first show of the year, supported by the highly rated Kaiser Chiefs and former Blur guitarist Graham Coxon. Expect much salivating over the new Franz Ferdinand material. If they air 'Your Diary' and 'This Boy' nobody will be disappointed, just as they won't be if they arrive in time to see Kaiser Chiefs, already (and rightly) anointed as the headliners' heirs.

Wed 6 Apr is Peter Kay's comedy night, while Keane headline on Thur 7 Apr. Expect earnestness. On Fri 8 Apr, UB40, Britain's most successful reggae band, are joined by Daltrey himself and - if the wind blows in the right direction -Eric Clapton. Exactly what form the collaborations will take is a closely guarded secret. Expect to be surprised by just how many of their hits you really like.

Mon 4-Fri 8 Apr Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gore, SW7 (0870 154 4040)
