Learn the secrets of cooking a perfectly seared steak from one of London’s top chefs
Shop London

As part of our week long Shop London event running from April 12 - 18, we’ve teamed up with a number of experts to bring you free talks, events and workshops. On Wednesday, the new head chef at CUT at 45 Park Lane is on hand to show you how to cook the perfect steak.

Who is Jamie Shears?

Jamie Shears has worked closely with some of the world’s top chefs, including Gordon Ramsey and Chris Galvin. CUT at 45 Park Lane is known for its exceptional steaks, and in July 2014, CUT was the first establishment in London to add the lauded Japanese Wagyu beef on its menu. Jamie plans to introduce high quality Wagyu beef sourced in the UK on his new menus now too, so who better to talk us through the tips and tricks to searing the perfect cut?

What equipment is needed?

If you want to cook along with the executive chef, you’ll need a steak at room temperature, some sea salt, sharp knives, a chopping board and hot frying pan. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to cook the steak in real-time though, we’ll add the video below so you can watch it when you fancy.

How long is the class?

The short class will take place on YouTube for just 5 minutes, leaving you more time to sit down and enjoy your restaurant-quality meal.
