Leeds full-back Brent Webb will leave Headingley at the end of the season but team-mate Kylie Leuluai has put his retirement plans on hold.

Webb, who joined the Rhinos in 2007 from New Zealand Warriors, has been given permission to talk to other clubs after rejecting the offer of a new 12-month contract.

Prop forward Leuluai, 34, has agreed a contract extension having initially announced plans to retire at the end of the season.

"It was a very difficult decision to decide to move on from Leeds Rhinos at the end of the season but, as a professional player, you know that eventually that day will come," said Webb, who will make his 150th start for Leeds in Monday night's Grand Final rematch against St Helens.

"I have had some fantastic times here in Leeds, in my family's life and not just on the rugby field, however I will take all those memories with me when I move on.

"I have only ever played for two clubs in my life but time moves on. We have got a big job here to do this season and my aim now is to play my part in helping the team achieve our goals for this season."

Leeds chief executive Gary Hetherington said: "We understand Brent is keen to try and secure a two-year contract in Super League for next season.

"We are not in a position to offer him that and therefore we have granted him permission to speak to other clubs about next season and beyond.

"Brent has been an outstanding player for Leeds Rhinos, one of the finest overseas players this club has ever had, and I am sure he will be doubly determined to finish his time at the club at the very top."

On Leuluai, Hetherington added: "When Kylie signed his last contract his intention was to return home at the end of this season but we always spoke about reviewing the situation nearer the time and seeing how his body was coping with the demands of Super League. He has been at the top of his game this season and we were pleased to speak to him and agree a new deal."
