Super League clash postponed again

Leeds and Wakefield will have to wait to do battle
24 March 2013

The Super League match between Wakefield and Leeds has been postponed for a second time due to the adverse weather conditions in West Yorkshire over the last 48 hours.

The match had initially been due to take place on Friday night but heavy snow forced it to be put back to Sunday afternoon, but it has been confirmed that conditions around the ground were still unsafe for spectators.

A statement on the Leeds website www.therhinos.co.uk read: "Despite an outstanding effort by a team of volunteers to clear the pitch at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium, unfortunately the conditions around the ground have been deemed to be too unsafe for spectators."

It went on: "There is no available date at present to reschedule the game, however we will be in discussions with Wakefield to arrange a convenient date at a later point in the season.

"If you purchased your ticket for the game from the Rhinos ticket office and can not make the re-arranged date when announced please return your ticket to us beforehand for a full refund."
