Henry training with Gunners

Thierry Henry is maintaining his fitness with Arsenal
22 November 2013

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry is training at the club during the Major League Soccer close season, the Barclays Premier League club confirmed on Friday.

Henry, 36, is now playing for the New York Red Bulls in the United States.

The France World Cup winner is Arsenal's all-time record scorer with 228.

Henry signed from Juventus in 1999 and went on to help the Gunners to Premier League success as part of Arsene Wenger's Invincibles side of 2003/2004 before leaving for Barcelona in the summer of 2007.

He returned to Arsenal for a loan spell in January 2012, when he scored both against Leeds in the FA Cup and a winner in stoppage-time at Sunderland on his last appearance.

Arsenal posted pictures of Henry at their Hertfordshire training complex - sporting the number two on his Gunners' kit - on the club's official website, with a message: "The legendary striker, now with New York Red Bulls, is maintaining his fitness levels with the current squad while MLS is in its close season. Welcome back Thierry... even if it is only temporary."
