Broad returns for Notts

Stuart Broad will make his comeback from injury on Wednesday as one of four current England players on show in the LV= County Championship clash between Lancashire and Nottinghamshire.

Broad and Graeme Swann will both turn out for Notts for the first time this season as they use this game and next week's match against Middlesex to tune up for the Tests against West Indies.

They will link up with Samit Patel in the Notts line-up, and face a Lancashire side that includes James Anderson, who will also be playing his first county match of the year.

Broad will be playing his first competitive cricket since injuring his calf in the first Test against Sri Lanka in late March, an injury which forced him home from the tour early and out of the lucrative Indian Premier League.

Notts director of cricket Mike Newell said: "Graeme is ready to play and will slot straight in but Stuart hasn't had any competitive cricket for a month.

"We all know what they are capable of and they need to use these games to prepare for a big summer of international cricket."
