Westlife's Kian claims jungle crown

Westlife singer Kian Egan has been crowned king of the jungle on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.

He was victorious over fashion designer David Emanuel who said he "thoroughly deserves it".

When he took his seat on the jungle throne as his campmates looked on, Egan said they all earned a piece of the crown.

"I don't know what to say," he said.

Adding: "It's been such a team effort. Everybody in here is a king and queen."

Emanuel said: "He's a great guy. He thoroughly deserves it."

Before hosts Ant and Dec announced the winner of the ITV show, the finalists reflected on their experiences.

The former boyband star said: "It was probably one of the best three weeks of my life."

Adding: "I'd highly recommend it to anyone to do."

Egan described the fish eye he had to eat in the final bush tucker trial as "probably the worst thing I've ever encountered".

Looking back at his highlights on the show, Emanuel said: "That's bizarre. It's like a dream."

A fan of the finer things in life, he said he was pleased with how he dealt with his time roughing it.

"I was kind of, dare I say it, impressed with myself," he said.

Emanuel said this time last year he was recovering from surgery for prostate cancer and said he thought if he can conquer that he may be able to conquer the jungle.

The 2013 finalists had one last feast together before their adventure came to an end. They had to do a final bush tucker trial to win their final evening meal.

Egan was given "tap-ass" for starter - Ostrich anus in a tapas dish with some dressing.

"It looks like chicken, tastes like chicken. It's all right," he said.

Emanuel was given "cock au vin" for his main course - a pig's penis floating in a casserole.

"He's a big boy," he said, a dding: "It's like rubber."

For dessert, Egan had "cock-olate eye scream" - a fish eye and a cockroach. "Oh my God. Disgusting," he said, as he ate the cockroach.

They both successfully completed the trial and were rewarded with a delicious feast of delights including smoked salmon, steak, pizza, and Eton mess.

Earlier in the show, Emanuel said he felt numb and said he did not know who was voting for him, but Egan said it is because he is "a good guy".

Egan compared his own popularity with that of reality TV personality Joey Essex, and said getting to the final was "way beyond my expectations".

He said to Emanuel: "You've come in here and outlasted everyone else and that's because you are a good guy and people vote for nice people.

"I have a fan base of Westlife fans but nothing like what Joey has - he has over two million followers on Twitter, I have 250k.

"That's still a lot but even so he has 1.75m more than me so it's like, what has happened?

"It's way beyond my expectations. I never expected to be here in the final. I'm absolutely gobsmacked."

Emanuel said: "I'm deeply honoured, I can't quite understand this whole thing, and all I know is that I've had the most amazing time in here."
