16 September 2012

Fat Friends star Lisa Riley said she was lucky to have been given a muscle-bound partner for Strictly Come Dancing but reckoned Robin Windsor will have his hands full trying to lift her.

The former Emmerdale actress was swept off her feet by the dance hunk when Sir Bruce Forsyth announced he would be her professional sidekick in the BBC One ballroom dancing show.

Riley said: "With these biceps - he's got to get me off the ground hasn't he? And he's already done it. It's amazing. So I was just made up."

Presenters Forsyth and Tess Daly revealed which pros the celebrity contestants would be dancing with throughout the competition. Before the big reveal, the stars had been teamed with a number of partners in rehearsals as they find their feet.

Olympic gold-medalist Victoria Pendleton has been paired up with Brendan Cole, while Denise Van Outen has been partnered with James Jordan.

TV presenter Johnny Ball - who at 74 is the oldest ever contestant to take part in the show - will be dancing with last year's winner Aliona Vilani.

Westlife's Nicky Byrne will be dancing with newcomer Karen Hauer and Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh was pleased to discover Pasha Kovalev, who was runner-up on last year's show with actress Chelsee Healey, will be her partner.

Former James Bond star Colin Salmon has been paired with Kristina Rihanoff, even though at 6ft 4in he is almost a foot taller than her.

Former model Jerry Hall has been matched with equally tall dancer Anton Du Beke, while petite children's TV star Dani Harmer has been paired up with Vincent Simone. Flavia Cacace, who last year was partnered with comedy contestant Russell Grant, was delighted to be dancing with Olympic gymnast Louis Smith.

TV presenter Fern Britton will dance with hunky 2010 winner Artem Chigvintsev, EastEnders star Sid Owen has been paired with Ola Jordan, cricketer Michael Vaughan will dance with Natalie Lowe and Daybreak's Richard Arnold will be partner to Erin Boag.
