A woman who lost her job after following Donald Trump’s motorcade around on a bicycle with her middle finger up is suing her former employer.

Juli Briskman filed a lawsuit against government contractor Akima claiming the firm violated employment law when it forced her to quit last year.

In a Twitter post on Wednesday, Ms Briskman confirmed she had filed the law suit and described her dismissal as “unlawful and un-American”.

A copy of the lawsuit has been published online and can be read here.

The Standard has approached Akima LLC for comment.

She was told she had violated the company's social media policy by using a photo of the incident as her Twitter and Facebook profile pictures.

They also told her that because Akima is a government contractor, the photo could affect their business.

"They said 'We're separating from you'. You can't have 'lewd' or 'obscene' things on your social media - so they were calling flipping him off 'obscene'," she said at the time.

Explaining her actions, she said: "He was passing by and my blood just started to boil... I'm thinking, he's at the damn golf course again. I flipped off the motorcade a number of times.

"I'm angry about where our country is right now. I am appalled. This was an opportunity for me to say something."

Ms Briskman, a Democrat voter, says she now plans to look for a new job with an advocacy group she supports, such as Planned Parenthood or PETA.
