Watch terrifying moment BASE jumpers scale 150m Hotel Arts in Barcelona before jumping into unsuspecting crowds

Heart-stopping footage has captured the moment two base jumpers scale a luxury hotel in Barcelona without ropes - before jumping off the top and plummeting towards crowds of unsuspecting tourists.

The video, taken by the helmet camera of one of the climbers, shows them calmly approaching the five-star Hotel Arts on foot before hoisting themselves up onto steel girders

At one point, the first climber says: "There's a security guard down there."

But the duo are already too high up the 150m structure for the guard to get to them in time, and they continue their ascent.

They reach stomach-churning heights as they climb calmly up the painted hotel frame - which looks terrifyingly smooth given the fact neither man is attached to any ropes or supports. They teeter across an eye-poppingly high strut and high-five - as a group of watching firemen tell them: "Have fun!"

Then they launch themselves off the side and plunge towards the unsuspecting tourists below.

It's a few nailbiting moments before the parachutes open and the men are able to guide themselves onto a relatively empty street, narrowly avoiding a bemused cyclist.
