This is the moment two topless men wielding chainsaws and covered blood charged at terrified beachgoers in Toronto.

The footage shows the tatooed pair on the in the Canadian city's Cherry Beach area on Sunday morning while brandishing the hefty power tools and screaming "you're f****d".

One of the men asks "who the f***k hit me?", revving his chainsaw as beachgoers flee.

A later clip shows several police officers with tasers arresting the two men and holding them on the ground.

An onlooker can be heard saying: "I told you you're going to go to jail."

One of the men being arrested shouts at officers: "Look at our f******g head," suggesting the blood came from an earlier attack.

Toronto police said they were called to reports of a mass punch-up on the beach at about 10am on Sunday.

Officers said in a statement: "It is alleged that two men involved in the original altercation suffered injuries. They then left and returned with weapons."

The men have been charged but their names have not been released because they are also being treated as victims of the earlier attack, police told Toronto City News.

There were no reports of further injuries.

One social media one person wrote: "When visiting Toronto, please remember to social distance from people fighting with chainsaws."

The beach has reportedly played host to several anti-mask parties in recent weeks, which Toronto mayor John Tory was questioned about in relation to the incident.

He said: “We will redouble our efforts to monitor those. We want to, on one hand, make sure that people are kept safe and that these kind of scary incidents don’t happen but on the other hand, that people are allowed to live their lives and to enjoy themselves without an oppressive, enforcement presence.”

“Clearly an incident like this would cause us to want to keep a careful eye on both these gatherings themselves because the gatherings, beyond certain numbers and at certain times, are regulated at this moment in time and also ones that scare or otherwise disturb people, we want to keep an eye on as well.”
