Shocking CCTV footage shows the moment a gang of men attacked a couple who were holding hands after attending Miami's Gay Pride event.

The video shows four suspects approaching the two men before beginning to push and shove them in Lummus Park on Ocean Drive on Sunday evening.

The couple, who were holding hands at the time, are then shown being violently punched and kicked and falling to the ground.

MSNBC named the victims as Rene Logunov and Dmitry Logunov who both reportedly sustained facial injuries.

Police were hunting for the four suspects

A Good Samaritan named as Helmut Muller Estrada, who tried to break up the fight, is said to also have been kicked and punched.

The incident report quoted by the news station said there was a "pool of blood" where Mr Estrada fell as he suffered lacerations to the back of his head.

"We probably provoked them because we were walking together, holding hands. It was gay pride, South Beach was full of gay people," Mr Logunov told NBC Miami.

Four suspects handed themselves in to police after the video was shared online, Miami officers said.

Miami Beach Police wrote on Twitter: "The four subjects have just surrendered through an attorney.

"We anticipate felony charges for each of them."
