Thrill seekers got more than they bargained for when they got stuck upside down on a broken down roller-coaster in Australia.

Terrified theme park goers were left in tears after being left suspended in the air when the Doomsday Destroyer ride at Warner Bros Movie World experienced a temporary glitch.

At least four people found themselves hanging 21-metres in the air while park staff tried to fix the problem.

In footage captured by 9 news a woman can be heard saying: "These guys are actually stuck up there."

Move World bosses said that riders were upside down for three minutes and 25 seconds due to the “ride safety operating systems” automatically engaging.

A spokesman told the news channel: “Earlier today, the ride safety operating systems automatically engaged on the Doomsday Destroyer ride at Warner Bros. Movie World.
