A bottle of vodka worth £960,000 which was reported stolen from a bar in Copenhagen has been found, Danish police said.

Officers said the bottle was recovered intact, and inquiries into the theft from Cafe 33 in the capital are continuing.

The vessel is made of 6.6lbs of gold and the equivalent amount of silver.

It also features a diamond-encrusted cap fashioned to resemble a vintage car front.

Cafe 33 owner Brian Ingberg said he received a call on Friday from a person who reported finding the vessel at a construction site in Copenhagen before handing it over to the police.

Mr Ingberg said no arrests have been made.
