Movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger was told off by German police after he was caught breaking the rules at a busy train station in Germany.

Police took a selfie with the Terminator actor and posted them online after he rode his bike along a train platform at Munich's main railway station on Friday.

Schwarzemegger's bodyguard and then the star himself were stopped by Bundespolizei police - Germany's federal police force - for riding their bikes.

Police said former California governor Schwarzenegger apologised and said he was having trouble walking, before offering to take a picture with the officer.

A police statement later noted that "after brief small talk with the federal police officer, the 'Terminator' left the main station through the north entrance".

Schwarzenegger walked away, pushing his bike, police added.

The selfie was posted on the police twitter page with the iconic film catchphrase #HastaLaVista as a hashtag.
