Prosecutors will hold a meeting with the media on Wednesday to discuss the progress of an investigation into Michael Schumacher's skiing accident.

A French legal team will report the findings at 10am GMT in Albertville, about 80km from where the seven-time Formula One champion is being treated for severe head injuries in hospital.

It is understood investigators have been focusing on the speed Schumacher was travelling at when he crashed into rocks in the resort of Méribel.

The German's manager Sabine Kehm has confirmed prosecutors are also looking at footage recorded on a camera which was attached to Schumacher's helmet.

Other factors being examined include whether the ski runs were marked correctly and whether there should have been signs to warn skiers about the rocks at the accident site.

Schumacher, 45, remains in a critical but stable condition, medics said today.

Details of the racing driver's treatment are not being released for privacy reasons, they added.
