A French man beat the odds by winning £ 877,000 (€1 million) on the country’s “My Million” for the second time in two years.

The unnamed winner nabbed his second fortune earlier this month.

He first won the draw in November 2016 and continued to play each week.

According to the newsagent in the Haute-Savoie region where the ticket was purchased, the lucky winner barely reacted to the news that he had won.

“I guess he is used to winning,” the newsagent told the BBC.

My Million is a smaller draw run alongside the EuroMillions lottery which players are automatically entered into when they enter the main draw.

The odds of one player winning the My Million twice are approximately one in 19 million, mathematicians told Le Parisien newspaper.

This makes his double win almost as likely as being struck by lightning twice, the odds of which are one in 20 million according to bookmaker Paddy Power.

Lottery organisers said the odds of winning once were one in 1.845 million.

According to French media, the now double millionaire said he plans to continue playing the competition.
