Incredible moment speedboat makes waves to put out wildfire in Canada

Tom Powell1 August 2017

This was the incredible moment a man used his speedboat to make waves which put out a wildfire.

The boater spotted the flames spreading near Thompson River in British Columbia, Canada, on Saturday.

Before any authorities arrived he sped away from the fire, creating a huge stream of water spraying out behind.

He repeated the manoeuvre several times and managed to directly hit the flames, before fire crews arrived to take over.

A woman relaxing on a nearby powerboat when the flames broke out told global news Canada: “It could have spread but he nailed it a few times with the spray.

“It definitely made a big difference.”
