Hurricane Sandy heads for US

A boy gets ready to go out after Hurricane Sandy tore through Haiti capital Port-au-Prince on its way north. It has killed 20 people in Cuba, Haiti and Jamaica.

Sandy was today passing over the Bahamas and heading for the US east coast, with winds at 90mph.

Schools, offices, airports and bridges closed in the Bahamas as people stocked up on supplies. Forecasters said it could hit the US on Halloween.
