A fish with human-like teeth and lips has sent the internet into meltdown.

It is believed the creature was caught in Malaysia, after Twitter user Raff Nasir posted images of the startling find.

Tweeting two photos, he wrote in Indonesian: “Her lips are hotter than mine.”

The pictures sparked an instant social media frenzy, earning more than 14,000 likes and 8,000 shares.

Mesmerised by its anthropomorphic pout, one Twitter user wrote: "Kylie Jenner is shaking in her boots.”

While others argued over which species it belongs to.

Local news site the Rakyat Post concluded that it was likely to be an “ayam laut” or “ikan jebong” – a form of triggerfish.

The species is known to be territorial and aggressive, using its teeth to battle with crabs and sea urchins, according to National Geographic.

The publication notes that triggerfish can grow up to 3.3ft long – with the largest being the “stone triggerfish” which is typically found in the Eastern Pacific between Mexico and Chile.
