Fined: man filmed 'surfing' on back of train in Australia

A train surfer has been fined after he was spotted clinging to the rear windscreen wiper of a carriage travelling at more than 70mph in Western Australia.

The 23-year-old, who has not been named, pleaded guilty to trespass at Perth magistrates’ court and was fined Aus$1,000 (£590).

He was filmed clinging on by a motorist who alerted authorities.

Officials said the man could easily have died during the stunt.

The maximum penalty for trespass is Aus$12,000 and 12 months' jail.
