A British tourist died after a drink and drugs binge while on holiday in Ibiza.

The body of John Sharp, 31, was found floating in the sea near the Playa d’en Bossa resort on Saturday.

A post mortem revealed that he had taken a cocktail of speed, cocaine and ecstasy in addition to drinking heavily.

Police spent days trying to identify the reveller who was wearing only swimming trunks.

His parents are on the Spanish island to make a formal identification.

Mr Sharp went out last Thursday night and police believe had had been dead for around 24 hours before his body was found.

It is not yet known where in the UK Mr Sharp is from. An investigating magistrate is in charge of the inquiry.
