A baby girl had a miraculous escape when she slipped out of her mother’s arms and fell onto a railway track under a moving train.

A couple and their two children jumped off the express in the city of Mathura in northern India to retrieve a missing purse yesterday.

Panic struck as one-year-old Saheeba fell between the moving train and platform and was wedged in the tracks, far left.

But she escaped without a scratch as the train sped away, and was reunited with her family.

Witness Asif Khan said: “No one expected her to survive. There was jubilation, everyone wanted to touch and bless the girl.”
