‘Avolatte’: Hipster café serving lattes in avocados

A hipster café is serving lattes in the hollowed-out skin of an avocado.

The Truman Café in Melbourne, Australia, shocked the world by posting a video of its new concoction on Instagram last week.

The footage shows a barista pouring hot milk onto black coffee in an avocado shell.

While some are eager to try the creation, others have taken to social media in despair.

One person commented on the video: “This is the best thing I've ever seen! Definitely going here.”

Another added: “Absolutely! Dreadfully problematic when it comes to drinking though.”

However others people’s reactions on Twitter haven’t been so favourable.

Ryan Wilson said: “You order a coffee these days and are presented with one of these. An Avolatte. A latte, in the skin of an avocado.”

Hunter Sosby said: “I will die before I consume an avolatte.”

Another Twitter user added: “If you make an avolatte, please punch yourself in the face for me? Also, I hate you.”

And another said: “We have to stop these fads for the sake of humanity.”

Even the Merriam-Webster Dictionary didn’t seem impressed.

The Truman café isn’t thought to be the only place serving the coffee, with one person posting a picture online from a café in Turkey.
