A craze in which people use household items to pretend to be on a plane has gone viral in China

A social media challenge in which people use household materials in order to pretend to be on a plane has taken China by storm.

People have come up with clever ways of using goods such as toilet seats, detergent bottles and chairs to make people think they are on a plane.

The hashtag “pretending to be on a plane” has had over 20 million views on Chinese site Weibo.

In one of the most popular videos on the site, a woman can be seen with her face looking ahead as if sat on a plane until it is revealed that she is sat in front of a television showing a video of a runway and is posing in front of a toilet seat.

One user wrote: “The desire to travel around the world is about to be realised.”

While another person said: “This is full of creativity.”

“This is a personal talent,” another person wrote.

In one video, a husky is seen wearing a toilet seat around it to make it look as if the animal is on board an aircraft.

While in other videos, people have used pictures showing land from above to help make their attempts look believable.

It isn’t the first social media challenge to take the country by storm.

Last year a “flaunt your wealth challenge” went viral.

More than a million posts on Weibo showed people posting images of themselves allegedly falling out of cars while displaying their luxury goods.
